你被雅思阅读填空题的难点“坑”到了吗？

　　在此，笔者为你揭示些填空题中暗藏的坑。对于这些雅思阅读难点，大家可以提高警觉，减少被坑到的概率。

　　一、考个别单词较生僻的含义

　　例1：___________ produce is particularly expensive.（C6-T1-P3）

　　对应原文：It would cost a family around£7,000 a year to replace meat they obtained themselves through hunting with imported meat.

　　大部分学生好不容易找到这句话后，看每年7000英镑去进行肉肉交换，的确这里的进口肉够贵。同义转换有了，于是很容易去直接写imported meat，接着就丢分了。据笔者大概的统计，在笔者课堂做题的学生中，这道题目的正确率不到20%。甚至笔者还听个学生提起过在他上课的际学校里，阅读老师让他们把剑桥书本上的produce改成了product，说是题目出错了。这个实在是……

　　这道题目其实考的就是produce的含义。除了我们已经非常熟悉的produce：v.生产，这个单词还有个用得较少的意思：n.农产品。所以说为啥imported meat不对，就是因为meat和produce已经重复了。因此终的正确答案只要写imported就够了，切勿画蛇添足。

　　[小提示]有些机灵点的学生即使不明白produce的含义，也会去看句子结构和词性。其中因为有be动词，所以produce怎么着都不可能是v.，那只可能是个n.。再比对imported meat，发现meat是个n.，因此去除掉同类词性的meat后，也能得到正确的答案：imported。

　　[拓展]C11-T2-P3的33道题目（Summary-选择）中motifs和images的同义转换,其实考的也是motif的较生僻含义。

　　二、of结构短语的理解

　　例2：2007-the __________ of BOAT 1550BC took place(ONE WORD ONLY)（OG-T1-P1）

　　对应原文：

　　...and an official launch of the project was held at an international seminar in France in 2007.

　　根据时间来定位确实并不难，2007直接找到出题段。然后有学生看到was held跟took place同义转换后直接大笔挥：project。然后又错。在这个地方，原文是an official launch of project。那么在这个地方我们应当要弄清楚究竟雅思阅读中哪个才是核心词。

　　举个例子：a group of people和the time of the event

　　前者of前的内容是表示数量，所以重心是后面的n.people，后者of前是常规n.，翻译过后是“事件的时间”，很明显后面的n.做了time的修饰语。这时of前面的time是重点。

　　那我们再回过来看：the launch of the project中launch:n.发布，也非数量，表示常规n.。而翻译过后是：“项目的发布”。那因此不难看出重点是“发布”，而非“项目”，因此在这个空格中应当填写的是launch。

　　Steps on the _________ produce a geometrical pattern

　　对应原文：...including four sides of steps that descend to the bottom in a stunning geometrical formation.

　　由于没有跟on眼看上去很致的同义转换，学生可能会有些懵。这里其实也属于是理解后的同义转换了，要明白of短语的含义：Four sides of steps（四周的台阶）——steps on the four sides（在四周上的台阶）。那么所以答案是four sides，而非有些同学找的bottom。

　　三、范围限定

　　例4：A lawyer found that studying ________ helped even more than other areas of mathematics in the study of law.（C11-T3-P3）

　　对应原文：A lawyer made the same point,‘...I attribute much of my success there to having learned,through the study of mathematics,and,in particular,theorems,how to analyze complicated principles in a way that most others cannot.’

　　很多学生根据lawyer很快定位到了这段后，看到这个律师把自己的成功归功于数学后立马在空格中填上了答案：mathematics，因为后面有helped嘛。

　　在这匆匆眼瞥过后，往往漏看了雅思阅读题目中非常关键的限制条件：other areas of mathematics，那说明前面只能是数学的个域，而非数学这个过于宽泛的整体概念。那因此正确答案应该是后面的theorems。从这题看出，学生在做题的时候应当审清题目，注意限制范围的情况。

　　四、指代理解

　　例5：2012-the Bronze-Age __________ featured the boat and other objects（OG-T1-P1）

　　对应原文：Meanwhile,the exhibition was being prepared ready for opening in July 2012 at the Castle Museum in...it brought together for the first time a remarkable collection of Bronze-Age objects,including many new discovers for commercial archaeology and some of the great treasure of the past.The reconstructed boat,...,was the centrepiece.

　　学生根据2012能很快找到相应的段落。其中的other objects在原文中也被同义转换成：a remarkable collection of Bronze-Age objects,including many new discovers for commercial archaeology and some of the great treasure of the past.后面也紧接着出现了the reconstructed boat来对应题目中的boat。那所以这些事物都是it brought together的。但是这个地方并没有直接出现答案。出题者则通过个指代，将正确答案和同义转换之间破开了个鸿沟。因此，想要做对此题，学生必须要能理解it指代的是什么。根据指代原则：律往前找，终看到前面的n.exhibition。通过理解指代，才能选出正确答案，现在的雅思也越来越注重内容理解了。
