A类大作文
作文题目:
Some experts suppose that when a country is already rich, any additional increase in economic wealth does not make its citizens happier.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?
题型类别:观点类(同意与否)
题材类别:富裕+自我实现
外教范文:
Nations around the world are taking part in a fierce competition relating to economic growth. Some of them have already reached an extremely high GDP. Nevertheless, governments are all focusing on producing great wealth for their citizens however this does not always result in the increase of happiness or harmony of the nation’s people.
(54 words)
It is obvious that if the relevant government departments fully invested the finances into improving the medical services, public facilities or provided a variety of other tangible benefits for its people, the general satisfaction and well-being for all would be increased. Take transport as an example, developing countries have made continuous efforts to invent faster vehicles with cheaper prices, which has brought great convenience and opportunities for those companies and businessmen. (71 words)
On the contrary, if the decision merely pays attention to a booming market rather than the residents’ lives, the situation will be another one. Even though an economy is flourishing, it can hardly be guaranteed that it is administered equally. Thus, the gap between the rich and the poor is likely to cause both mistrust and the reduction in the sense of fairness. For instance, some powerful and wealthy states in the world are still confronted with other serious problems---Japan, an advanced nation with high GDP, is not able to show the outcome that this is matched with equal amounts of happiness among Japanese residents. Instead, it has a fairly large suicide ratio due to unemployment.
(117 words)
In conclusion, whilst the remarkable expansion of a country’s finance and achieving great wealth may lead to a short-term upsurge in happiness, this may well be short lived. Once the fruits are not evened out, the inequality will mitigate the positive effect brought by economic development on happiness.
